My Update

Hello there.

For some reason last week I called this little lady by the wrong name...duhhhh a blonde moment I guess.
I'll never call it a senior moment.

She is "WHITE CHRISTMAS."

She is a treat to work on!

Have a good week and stitch with happy fingers.

New Member

Hi, Just a quick post to introduce myself. A few days ago I asked, and Kathy brought me right on board. I love Mirabilia, and have been working on Christmas Flourishes since the beginning of January. Seeing all the beautiful progress you all have made should help me get motivated to finish her. Here's my beginning post.

Thanks for having me! :)

The weekend is coming again.

My Winter Queen .....She is a charm to work on and now that the weekend is coming I can take her out of the bag. ...Probably tonight. I have to work on the Album of stitches first. It's on black and the daylight works better for that.
Stitch with happy fingers.See you next week.
I had a look at the postings and everyone seems to be working diligently on their Mira's...have fun!

Long Weekend Stitching plans

Hi Ladies,
I am sorry to say that I have not touched my poor Fairy Idyll for the last week so have no new progress to report. I had a busy weekend with a family wedding last weekend and just been to tired to stitch this week.
But with our Family Day long weekend finally here....I am reinspired to work away on FI and get that topiary section finished and add in some metallics and hopefully have a nice picture to post on Tuesday morning.
Hope everyone has a happy long weekend, for those that get the day off.

Additions to Athena

I thought I would post my progress for this week with a close shot, and an even closer shot. I have added her arms and some dress. I love the mill hill treasures and beads! So far she looks like a valentine's day chocolate but the rest of the dress is in golds. (The arms look choppy because of the half stitches but that will be unnoticable when the backstitching gets added).

Hello, Hello!

Hello Everyone! Last week, I was stumbling along in blogland and came across this little spot of Mirabilia heaven. I asked Kathy if she would let me join and she graciously obliged. Thanks Kathy! Anyways, I thought I would introduce myself to everyone even though I notice some familiar names here. My name is Valerie and I am from San Francisco, CA. A beautiful town which is currently under an annoying but much needed veil of rain. I've been stitching since I was a little girl (7) when my mom showed me how. I kind of suspect she was looking for a way to get me out of her hair so she could get some rest and her tactics worked since I've been hooked on cross stitch ever since. Of course, my addiction ebbed and flowed through school and has geared back up again over the last few years. I am still working through obligation stitching and other projects but I have two Mirabilias to start this year. One is Fairy Moon with my supplies pictured below! I was supposed to start this in February of last year and I got sidetracked and barely put any stitches in it so this will be attempt number 2! I can't wait to start it...again!
The other Mirabilia project will be Letter G ~ Gwendolyn as a gift. I hope to start Fairy Moon sometime in March so in the meantime, I will relish in seeing how everyone is progressing on their beautiful Mirabilias!

Thanks!
Valerie

Finally Some Progress on Athena

I finally have some progress to share on Athena. I spent today stitching her hair and adding all of these lovely beads and some Kreinik braid to her hair. Isn't she so stunning so far? I just love the effect that the beads and metallic threads give to the Mirabilia's. The faces always inspire me and this is why I always start with the face on a Mira.
Please visit my blog to see my Rose of Sharon finish.

Holly by Juls

I didn't get done as much as I wanted to this weekend but still she now has a face and arms! The pale blue square in the corner is a shadow. I just snapped the picture fast since I wanted to post a picture. I'm off to stitch!
Oh and an introduction is in order. My name is Juls and I "met" Kathy A. on another blog "Snowbird" and have since finished my CdC. I have been stitching since I was 10 years old (a long long time I am now 50!!!! ) when my older sister put needle and thread in my hand and said "you will do this" and I listened and have been thankful ever since. It binds me to her and I now stitch in her memory. My stitching has become quite eclectic and necessary to my soul! Thanks for reading about me.

No pictures or progress (pout)

Hello everyone. I know I am amongst the missing these days. I have not worked on Royal the past two weeks. I have a RR, A Make A Wish and 2 Fair and Squares due by mid February and I am working my way through them. I am finished the RR and the Wish except for the sewing part and am on the first Fair and Square. Once I get those done, I will be back.
I do check the blog every day and watch everyone's progress though.
Beautiful work one and all. Keep it up.
You will notice we have had a couple of new stitchers join us. Welcome to you!!! Hope you enjoy being with us.

Happy February

Hi Ladies....happy February...thank goodness the month of January is behind us...always a long month and I have had enough snow thank you very much.

I took a pic of Fairy Idyll to show my progress over the last week or so... you can see the topiaries are taking shape and I am leaving out the overdyed flosses for now as I want to give her a good soak before adding in the overdyed stuff.
I hope to get the topiaries done this week as the weekend I wont get much time as I have a family wedding on Saturday and staying overnight.
