She is finished.....Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
She is finished....
This is my Mirabilia White Christmas.
I'm so proud that I stuck to my guns and got her finished today with 6 hours in 2009 left over...LOL.

The beads and treasures are amazing...Thanks again to Christin for gifting them to me in the spring.
I added Swarovski Crystals instead of the millhill beads in the windows...just a bit more bling for me!!
Thank you for sharing your works with me I will keep looking in .
Who knows maybe another Mira in the making.
I do have a Mira RR on the go when I get it back I'll post it to show you.

Have a safe and warm holiday and stitch with happy fingers.

I have been checking the blog and love all the beautiful stitches I see.
Keep on stitching.

I am hoping to spend some quality time with Royal Holiday once I finish a gift.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Here she is ALMOST finished.

I have all of the DMC stitching done. Now the rest is Wisper, beads and treasures.

The area in her shawl is going to be the Wisper... My next step. Then the beads!
I'm hoping to have her finished by the end of the year...Wish me luck.
We'll see how my time works out with the holidays.
I want to wish all of my friends out there in the stitching blogger world the best for the Holidays.
Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.
Thank you for your inspiration and friendship.

Letter G - Framed

I thought I would share the framing job on my Letter G. This is a gift for my BF's neice.
I am thrilled with how it came out and really wish my name started with a G so I had an excuse to keep it! It's now on it's way to it's new home. This was a joy to stitch on and my sister, after seeing the finished product has requested I stitch one for my niece so I'll be starting Letter C in the New Year. Letter C will be her Sweet Sixteen birthday gift so I have until August to stitch, frame and send. I'm also hoping to *finally* make a real start on Fairy Moon on NYE. We'll see if that actually happens. lol

There are more photos of the framing on my blog.

A Start on Royal Holiday

This is where I got on week one. I'm trying to rotate projects (since my "in progress" list has been rapidly expanding), so she's put away for a few weeks until her turn comes up again.

It's been too long

Since I stitched on a Mirabilia. I was really missing it. This is Rachel's round robin. I did Waiting For The Ships.

Progress on Royal Holiday

After taking an extended holiday from stitching on Royal Holiday, I sat down last week and spent a few days putting in some stitches. There was lots of grumbling going on as I worked with the Whisper thread. Then Dani said - short strands and use a larger needle. The larger needle is easier to thread and makes the holes in the fabric a little bigger to help with pulling the thread through. Thanks Dani for a great suggestion. It works!!!! And so, we have some good progress!!!

Sleeping Beauty

Finally, a little progress on Sleeping Beauty. No idea when I will actually get to finish her, as I'm going to be starting Royal Holiday soon, have about 5 other large projects in the works AND I'm teaching myself how to knit.

Adia, Garden Fairy

October was a really busy month for me.  I taught 3 classes in machine embroidery, so most of my stitching was concentrated on little things.  I finished my first Christmas ornament for the season, however my fairy has been neglected this month.  Next month hubby goes on shift work which means I will have lots of time to finish my fairy for December 31.  I will be posting more photos in 2 weeks time.
The fairy is done on a light olive green linen which really brings out the yellows in her dress.  I have started the wings and I am blending the colors with a holosheen embroidery thread (for the machine) but it really adds to the translucency of her wings.

Gigi (Letter G) Happy Dance!

I just stitched on the last bead on my Letter G, which I renamed Gigi...named after the nickname of the little girl who this will be gifted to. I am pleased with how she turned out!

Letter G Progress

I've been working on Letter G for about a month now...stitching when I can spare a few minutes here and there. Here's my progress as of last week. I am almost done! Since this picture was taken, I've stitched the fairy and have started on the backstitching. Just need to finish that and the beading and she'll be completed! My goal is to finish her by the end of this week...fingers crossed!
I'll be sure to show off my completed Gigi!

Emerald Mermaid

I picked up Emerald Mermaid from the framer's today. It turned out so great! It's hard to see in the pic, but the mat is a suede emerald green, just perfect. I love, love, love the suede mats.

Sweet Pea 10/3/09

A bit more done. And to answer a question of do I ever sleep, every morning I get up with my boyfriend at 4:20 a.m. and I don't normally start work until 9am or so, and I work at home, so I stitch for a few hours each day most days.

Sweet Pea 9/28/09

Here is my most recent update on Sweet Pea.

It's about time... Beatrice

This little piece of Christmas Flourishes is part one of my Mira RR. Just thought I'd share it with you. The group that I stitch with on Thursdays will be adding to it.
And here is my White Christmas. I haven't been doing much blogging for the summer but I have been stitching. She is 2/3's done. I would like her finished by the end of the year.
I've been checking in with the blog and have seen the stunning pieces out there. Kudo's to all of you!

Hi, I am Danielle and just joined this blog. I am 35 and work at home as a legal transcriptionist. I love Mirabilia patterns. I recently finished Emerald Mermaid, which is currently at the framer's and I just started the Sweet Pea Pixie Coutour on Crossed Wing's Lily Pond 28 count Linen. My first WIP is below. All of the work I've seen on this board is fantastic!

Adia Garden Fairy

After a very busy weekend of stitching at Kathy's, I came home very inspired to work on my fairy.  As you can see I have managed to stitch quite a bit in one week.  I can hardly wait to start stitching on her wings.

Jenn's Mirabilia RR

Ah, what fun it is to stitch on the Mirabilia's.

Here is my contribution to Jenn's RR.
Jenn has asked for children or fairies.
I chose one of the little angels from Crystal Christmas. I love this piece so much I may have to stitch it for myself.

Here is her RR to date.

Mirabilia Round Robin

This is Kaye's Mirabilia RR. The lighting is not the best... the fabric is a very pretty sky blue opal. I stitched the right side mermaid from Mermaids of The Deep Blue. I really wish it had photographed better, the beads are very sparkly and pretty in person.

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

Hi everyone!

I'm Valentina, and first of all I have to thank Kathy for letting me join the blog.

I live in a really small country village some 40 km away from Turin, Italy, where I study environmental engineering.

I've always loved all the Mirabilias since I first saw one, but just recently started my first, which is Forest Goddess. I'm stitching it on 32ct Lugana from Silkweaver, the color is Dusk.

I'ts now parked since I've got a couple of seasonal stitches and gifts that I've got to complete by the end of September, but then I'll work back on her again-

I'd like to start Royal Holiday soon too, but it seems that my beads and metallic threads (also those for Forest Goddess) got lost in the mail, I hope they'll arrive soon!

That's all for now!

Bye

Valentina

Ink Circles Peregrinations

Finally my Ink Circles Peregrinations is finished. I started in January of this year and finished this morning on 11 August 2009. I chose a rose colored background and changed my threads accordingly. The threads are actually hand dyed pearl cotton and the background threads are DMC.
Next Phd (Project Half Done) is my Mirabilia Fairy.

August and a long weekend

HI everyone,

finally am back here.....and back to Fairy Idyll. I started doing some beading last night on FI and looks like I will do some more today if the sun doesnt start shining soon.
Been at my new job for a month now, but managed to pick up some extra work on the side so I invested in a new Notebook computer which means I can get online at home and also get my photos of FI on here again. So I will take a picture later on tonight when I finish some more beading and hopefully have something for you all to look at later.
happy stitching and hope everyone who has tomorrow off enjoys the day. It is a holiday for us in Ontario.

Jen's WWMirabiliaRR section finished!

Okay, Jen, here's your other fairy finished! I really loved stitching her. I think she'd be awesome to stitch in full, and I'm seriously considering it once our RR is finished. I hope she's all you're wishing for. Finished except for the quarter stitches I still need to fill in.
You can see the piece in full above, and a close up of The Petal Fairy, which I posted previously. I set the cameo in so you could see the scale.
Below is my pile of stitching projects...just a small bit of them!! :P Underneath them is my cute little box (which can't be seen!) of WIPs in their bags. I just sit in my chair and put down the one I'm stitching on, and pick up the next one I need to stitch on. Works for me! But, then, I have a very understanding DH.... He wasn't at first until I said, "Stitching is my life. Take my stitching from me, and I die!!" A little dramatic...

You can see my Mirabilia box in the upper left side!! :] This is where I keep my charts and threads and beads and fancy scissors and notes! Waiting for my next RR piece now... This whole pile is on the edge of my chaise lounge...so nobody can use it. :)

Keep in touch everyone! Hugs, Deb
