An Update Fairy Idyll
Hi Everyone
sorry that I havent been able to post much lately or share photos. Silly work is keeping me too busy. I was able to get an updated photo of Fairy Idyll last week at Guild as I was the profiled stitcher for the month.
I need to pick her back up and work on some more beading and then get back in to the canopy...but she is really coming along now that I put the piece on some scroll rods to work on the beading at the bottom. Hoping to tackle the rest of that section this coming weekend

Back Again
It has been a really long time since I have posted on this board but I am back to stitching Mirabilias once again and thought I would share what I am working on these days.
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Tracy and I have been stitching for about 20 years and have been blogging for over 3 years about whatever stitching I happen to be working on at the time. I go through different phases of what type of stitching I am being inspired by periodically. Currently it is Mirabilia once again. I am something of a recluse but enjoy the camaraderie of the blogging/stitching community. I have two blogs currently, my new wave of passion for Mirabilia led me to name my wip blog "The Mirabilia Stitcher" and it is relatively new so there isn't a whole lot there but there will be as I stitch more of their pieces. My other blog is called "TJ's Gallery" and has the finished pieces of all of my favorite needlework with some of the specifications.
This one is my current wip, Summer Queen, and I really am enjoying working on this piece.
This one is my recent completion called Deepest Love which is a companion piece to one that I did a few years ago called Queen Mermaid.
Thanks for looking, and thank you Kathy for the new invite.

Updated Royal Holiday
Slowly but surely making progress on Royal Holiday, which is my project of focus until she's completed. I finished all the red of her cloak last night, and still have a fair amount of work to do, but I should be able to complete her in a month or so.
Like all the Queens, she's a fun stitch - just big so time consuming. I'll be replacing all the Wisper thread, which I really hate using, with DMC white, as I've done with all the other Queens in the collection.

My sister's finishes
As I've told you in my very first post, my sister Olga is also a keen Mirabilia stitcher. She started her collection a bit later than me but it is growing so fast that I keep admiring her pace and her devotion to Mirabilias.
Olga's first work was "The Kiss". She changed the haircolor and the man's hairstyle to reach the resemblance of her and her BF:

Then came "Petal Fairy". It was her first work where she tried 1 over 1 stitching for body and face. She loved the effect as much as I do and since that time she's been stitching body and face only this way:
"Rosebud Lullaby" was stitched as a present for Olga's literature teacher and her baby daughter:
And finally we would like to show you this year finish - "Fairy Moon". Olga chose a very beautiful cloth shade for this design. She thinks that it makes the stars, the fairy dust and the moon brighter:
UPD: I've just received "Christmas Fairy" pic so here she is. This piece is not framed yet:
As for the current rotation, Olga has "Autumn Queen" and "Miss New Year Fairy" in progress so new beautiful finishes are to come soon.
Thank you for reading and keep stitching!

Hi from a newbie!
Hi everyone!
I'm so glad to become a member of this blog and to share with you my passion for Mirabilia! My name is Natalya, I am from Moscow (Russia). I discovered Mirabilia just 3 or 4 years ago and I was absolutely fascinated by this magic world of queens, mermaids, fairies... I spent hours browsing pics, reading tips and hints on how to stitch these designs. Believe it or not, but at that time I knew nothing about Kreinik, Mill Hill or hand-painted threads so finding Mirabilia was like a milestone in my "stitching history". Thanks to Mirabilia, I've met a very dear friend of mine and many more stitchers who share my passion. So I strongly believe that these designs do bring miracles to our life!
Well, now I'd like to share with you some of my Mirabilias. I chose "Lady of the Mist" as my first Mirabilia and started it almost 3 years ago - in mid-October'2007. But guess what? I haven't finished it yet (shame on me!). Yes, I am a slow stitcher and I always have so many urgent projects in my current rotation that I have to pause my LOTM progress now and then. However, I decided to finish it this year. That is how she looks now:

You see, I am quite close to a happy dance. I stitched the hands 1 over 1 and I love the effect.
I started my second Mirabilia in 2008 as an anniversary present to my mother. She was born in July and she loves amethysts so can you guess what pattern I chose for her? Yes, obviously it was "July's Amethyst Fairy". )) It took me 4 or 5 months to stitch her and here she is:
You can find more pics in the album.
As any Mirabilia fan I have many designs in my wishlist. I love all the Queens (especially the Queen of Peace and the Winter Queen), Fairy Flora, English Roses (I'm so fond of ribbon embroidery) - these are just those designs for which I've already purchased the charts and materials. My sister Olga is also a keen Mirabilia stitcher. She has already finished The Kiss, Petal Fairy, Rosebud Lullaby, Fairy Moon, Christmas Fairy and she's started Autumn Queen and Miss New Year Fairy this year. She doesn't have a blog so I keep encouraging her to start one. However, even if she does not, I will ask her permission to show you the pics of her beautiful finishes.
Thank you for reading my long story till the end. Have a nice day and happy stitching!

A new start
....because I can't finish a Mirabilia without starting one of the many others I have lined up. But you knew that.
I started Queen Mermaid last weekend. The fabric is Sterling Silver from Silkweaver, which is a very muted pattern hand dyed in a lovely silvery-blue-grey color. I really love it for this project, which is a good thing because I'll also be doing Deepest Love on the same fabric at some point.
There's quite a bit of metallics on her (as with most of the mermaids) so I went ahead and ordered those because there's only so much I can stitch "around" where they need to go. Should be here shortly.

Nearly there!
The end is finally in sight for Sleeping Beauty...yay!
I think I should be able to finish up all of the stitching in about two weeks, and then get the beading done (of which there is a lot, although it's fairly straight forward).
It's always exciting when a finish is near...whew!

Art Deco Spirits
I've not posted here in a very long time, but my Art Deco Spirits which I started in 2009 has finally made it to the top of the pile!
Here's Kathy (our loyal blog moderator) and I showing off our Mirabilias as we stitched together this weekend!

Royal Progress
Here she is again! I'm almost there. I am obsessed. I have stitched until my neck is so stiff I can hardly move it!
I need to rest but I want her finished! I am so close. Hopefully by weeks end she will be stitched, washed and ready for beading.

Finishing up Sleeping Beauty
It's time to drop out of rotating projects and get a finish in!
I broke out Sleeping Beauty again last weekend, and I'll be working on her until she's finished. This week, I managed to get her skirt done, which was quite a challenge.

A lot of shading and working in a swirl pattern which will be beaded once all the stitching is done. It was a bit tedious because there's so much room for error there - ack! Anyway, it's done now, and as you can see, I'm adding still more roses. There's still quite a bit of work to do on her, but she's coming along nicely.

Update on Royal Holiday
Well here she is finally.
This is where I was when I went on holidays to our cottage 3 weeks ago.
And here she is as of yesterday.
I breathed a sigh of relief when I got to the end of her dress. That was a monster. And did I tell you - I HATE Wisper thread. But, it looks so beautiful done.
I tend to work a rotation but that will be on hold for now. I can see an end in sight and so I will focus on Royal Holiday until I am done.
I also won a giveaway on Carolyn's blog and this is what I won. Surprise!!! Another Mirabilia - a limited edition kit - Miss Valentine. Carolyn says she is glad that I won since I moderate this blog. This has slipped into my bag and will be my next Mira after Royal Holiday is done.

Forest Goddess growing on
Hi!
It's been almost a year since I last posted, introducing myself and my first and beloved Mira, Forest Goddess.
Since there, she's been constantly growing and now she's almost done.
When I first showed it to you she looked like this:
After the summer, I pushed her aside and worked on other projects until Christmas, when I took her out again and by the first days of the 2010, she has grown a little:
I kept working randomly on her throughout the spring, and around Easter... the bottom was reached!!
And here is where I stopped, turning my attention on other projects, mainly because of her skin. I first started it over 2, but I didn't liked it, so I frogged it and restarted it over 1, which has been a nightmare (never stitched over 1 before) so I refrogged it again, and now I must make myself happy with the over 2 to start working on her again!
That's all, happy Mira stitching to all!!
