Mirabilia RR 2012

Here is my fabric gridded for the 2012 Mirabilia RR.

What a pain it was to stitch this window. It took me forever and I don't want to see DMC 535 again for quite some time.
My theme this time will be Christmas! I will add snowflakes beside the names, and snowflakes and icicles to the windows when it is done.

The photo does the fabric no justice. It is Silkweaver 28 count lugana called Wandering Ivy.

Mermaid Mirabilia and my Mirabilia RR comes home

This is the last round of my current Mirabilia RR.

I stitched Deepest Love - and this is the RR to date. Gorgeous or what!!!

Oh, and here is my RR back home. I will be stitching Lily of the Woods - the Dreaming Fairy, in the missing spot.

Don't worry - I have a new Mirabilia RR starting in January of 2012 and I am moderating a Mirabilia RR starting in Feb-March of 2012.

Fairy Flora Completed Plus

I completed Fairy Flora on November 14th, 2011.  This one was started on February 26th of this year and I knew it was going to be about a year long project.  In actual time, I probably stitched on it for a total of 3 or 4 months (because I put it away a few times to work on other projects).  However, I am finding out that I am not a very fast stitcher.  If I stitch on and off all day and evening, I might get 400 - 500 stitches completed.  No matter how hard I try, I just can't get anymore done than that.  I don't know if that sounds like a lot or a little to you.  I know some of you work and get about the same amount of stitching done, so I think I am just slow but with more time to stitch than some.

Fairy Flora is stitched on 32 count opalescent hand dyed lugana with dmc thread, 2 threads over 2 fabric threads and mill hill beads regular and petite.

The same day I completed Flora, I started Mermaids of the Deep Blue with my own color conversion.  This one is being stitched on 28 count (which is what I now prefer) opalesent lugana from Sunny Dyes fabrics, the color is "Surf."  The link can be found on my sidebar of my blog and the conversion is also on my blog found here.

New Fabric Stash

I am officially addicted to hand dyed fabrics now.  I have stocked up for probably the next year.  The one on the far left is Polstitches called Friendship which is a twin of the one I used for Mediterranean Mermaid.  The one in the middle is a small piece from Crossed Wing Collection (no opalescents) called Blueberry.  The 5 pieces on the right are all from Sunny Dyes Fabric, a new fabric dyer I have found.  This is my first time buying from them and I had great customer service and the product looks great.  The link for their website can be found on my sidebar.  I am in a 28 count mood these days, it just seems to look so much nicer and more even than 32 count in my opinion, so I felt the need to stock up on this count fabric.  Most of these will probably be used for Mirabilias.  Maybe a Passione Ricamo or Lavender and Lace might make it on one of these as well as some Heritage Stitchcrafts (I am liking the Valerie Pfeiffer Duets series and am contemplating the Elegance series).
Here is the progress I am making on Fairy Flora as of late; I am really trying to hustle on it since I am so close to finishing.  Also, I met some ladies at a stitching get together this week who have really inspired me so I have a new enthusiasm for my stitching projects.
I also added a little to Venetian Opulence since I last posted about her but instead of being done in a couple of weeks (this one is going to be just a portrait), I will not be done until sometime after I complete Fairy Flora.

When these are completed, I will start Mermaids of the Deep Blue On the Aqua fabric you see pictured above.

You can visit me at The Mirabilia Stitcher.

Savannah's Curtsy

I also began a new start on Oct 15th....Savannah's Curtsy!  I am working on Buttercreme 40ct linen over two. Has anyone else stitched this one?

This is what I have done so far and I will be updating it daily on my blog....Will post a pic when I'm all done!

A Frame and A New Start

I am really happy with how Mediterranean Mermaid's frame and mats turned out.  It has 2 mats, the top being suede and has a specialty cut in the corners.  The frame itself is a silverish tone with embellishments on it.  I love my framer, this only cost me $106...seriously, no joke. (I always choose from the less expensive frames and always choose regular glass so I save money there).

On October 15th I started Venetian Opulence.  This one is being stitched on 28 count Crossed Wing Collection's lugana, the color is Blueberry.  Unfortunately, there is no opalescent in this one.  I waited so long for Silkweaver to correct their error on my other piece of fabric meanwhile waiting to start MotD and nothing ever showed and since I am not sure if I want to use the original fabric they sent me or not and not wanting to wait a long time for a fabric order, I decided to order something from 123stitch.  Their service is incredibly fast, I received this order in 2 days.  They don't have any opalescents though.  This piece, Venetian Opulence, is going to be a portrait and not the entire design.

Forest Goddess Happy Dance!!!

Finally my first Mirabilia is done

Forest Goddes by Mirabilia
32 ct Lugana By Silkweaver in Dusk
DMC floss and Mill Hill Beads as listed
02/2008 - 10/2011

It's been a loooong journey, mainly because I could't decide wheter stitch her skin over 1 or over 2, tried both a couple of time, and in the end I thought she'll look good enough with over 2 skin.
She's not exactly like the chart, a lot of errors here and there but I think not even I will be able to see them now.
I've got a lot of wips to work on right now but I'll try to finish JGF by the end of the year.

Let's introduce myself

Hi everybody! My name is Anikó. Kathy was so kind, and sent me invitation to this blog. All of your works are fantastic!

I also love all of these mermaids, fairies and princesses of Mirabilia. Nowadays I work on two Mirabilia stitching: Emerald Mermaid and Cinderella. But there are two others on my to do list: Mermaids of the Deep Blue and the Mediterranean Mermaid.

I'm stitching on Aida (18 count) with DMC threads. I also use Mill Hills and Kreiniks.

Here are the photos of my Mirabilia's progresses:

You can see more about my works over at my blog here.

Little about myself:

I was born and live in Szeged, in Hungary. I'm married since 2003. We have four daughters: Viki is 7 years, Gabi is 5 years, and the twins Adri and Betti are 3 months old. I started to stitch 15 years ago.

Yes Happy Dance and anything else I can do. I am so happy, the Butterfly Fairy looks amazing.
Her soft colors are perfect for my bedroom.
Because I choose to do the large pieces, finishes take longer but OMG it is so worth the time I put into her.

Fairy Flora

This is 3 more weeks of progress since the last time I posted Flora.  Most of that time was spent stitching variations of pink on her fairy gown.  There is still a long way to go but I am going to take a break from this piece for a while until she inspires me again.  Please visit me at The Mirabilia Stitcher.

Lady Hera

I have some progress at last.  Here is my start on Lady Hera by Mirabilia.  I actually started this one on May 26th but was working on Fairy Flora until two days ago when I got up the motivation to change the colors of the yellow dress to gold.  I kept the ribbons the same color, I hope they will work with it.  This one is being stitched on Silkweaver Reflections, 32 count, Starquest.  If you would like my conversion for the dress, don't hesitate to send me an e-mail. Next week I will reveal my progress on Fairy Flora, I am about half way complete with it.  Please visit me at The Mirabilia Stitcher.

Fairy Flora

I don't have a lot of progress on Fairy Flora but wanted to share the little bit that I have made since the last post about her.
